Angst: Breaking the Stigma Around Anxiety

Director: Matt Skerritt

This fascinating documentary and virtual reality experience was produced by Scilla Andreen, who also produced Screenagers (a film that was featured at last year’s Friday Harbor Film Festival).

Angst takes an in-depth look at anxiety — its causes and effects — and explores what we can do about it. Angst features interviews with kids and young adults who suffer or have suffered from anxiety, and who are willing to talk about their experiences and what they have learned. The film also includes experts committed to helping people manage their anxiety, and those who focus on researching its causes and sociological effects, offering tools and resources that provide hope.

The documentary examines the challenges of anxiety in a way that is always intimate, honest and accessible. Prior to the film, the audience will be given special glasses to participate in a virtual reality experience.

A panel discussion by experts will follow this film.
