The Friday Harbor Film Festival is rolling into town, and if you're a San Juan County student or school staff member, you're invited to attend for free.

Friday Harbor Film Festival free ticket for San Juan County students and school staff, October 22–25, 2026
Free tickets for San Juan County students and school staff.

Thanks to a generous grant from Suzy Wakefield, every student and school staff member can pick up two complimentary tickets for the 2026 Friday Harbor Film Festival, featuring inspiring films, visiting filmmakers, and unforgettable stories.

How to Get Your Free Tickets

Beginning October 12, 2026, tickets will be available at your school office. Here's what to know:

  • Two tickets per person. Each student and staff member can pick up two tickets at the school office.

  • Each ticket is good for one film during festival weekend.

  • Tickets are rush line. They depend on availability at the screenings you choose, and seating is General Admission. It begins after Reserved Admission ticket holders are seated, so we recommend arriving early.

  • Need more? Students and staff can request additional tickets at the FHFF office, 10 First Street, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm during the festival.

  • Not valid for the GALA. These tickets do not apply to the Friday night GALA.

A Note from Our Donor

Suzy Wakefield, donor of the free student tickets, smiling and holding a bouquet of sunflowers
Suzy Mygatt Wakefield, Ph.D., a retired high school counselor, funds the free tickets for San Juan County students and school staff.

The reason I am supporting kids to attend the Friday Harbor Film Festival is that I believe these documentaries can teach you a lot about what is going on in the world, and in a few short years, many of you may be taking on leadership roles in your communities. Being well-informed is vital to being able to discuss issues accurately and with insight. Your high school teachers are already doing a great job of teaching you about the world; the films at the Friday Harbor Film Festival can help to enhance what you are already learning in many of your classrooms. I hope that many of you will participate in the Film Festival, if just for a few films that really interest you. This is a huge opportunity for you, and, since you are a student, it is free! We look forward to working with your teachers to make this happen!
