The Friday Harbor Film Festival returns October 23–26 with the largest lineup in our history! From more than 189 submissions, our Selection Committee has curated a schedule of 34 feature documentaries, 21 short films, and 14 inspiring shorts in the Young Filmmakers Showcase. With so many stories to experience, planning ahead is more important than ever.

Here’s what’s new:

  • One-time screenings only. Unlike past years when films played twice, each film will screen just once in 2025.

  • Reserved seating. For nearly all screenings, you’ll be able to select your seat in advance. We expect many films to sell out, so getting your pass and reserving tickets early is the best way to secure your spot.

  • No online/on-demand festival this year. Films will not be available to watch after the in-theatre festival, so be sure to catch your must-see titles during their scheduled screenings.

  • Tickets required for everything. Even free events will require a ticket for entry this year.

🎟️ Individual tickets will be available beginning October 4th for $15 ($18 at the door), but if you plan to see more than a couple of films, buying a pass is the best way to go.

A pass provides a bundle of ticket “credits” you can use to order tickets and lock in your seats well before festival weekend.

All ticketing is powered by our ticketing partner, Eventive.

What does “concurrent use” mean?

Concurrent use refers to using a pass to reserve tickets for screenings happening at the same time (for example: 1:00 PM at the Whittier Theatre and 1:15 PM at the Gubelman Theatre). Passes that allow concurrent use (like the 6-Pack or Day Pass) let you split tickets across overlapping screenings — perfect for families or groups who want to see different films at the same time. Passes that do not allow concurrent use (like the Patron or All-Access) limit you to one screening per time block.
